  • About Julie Wolfert

Julie began riding as a young child, starting with western and then quickly making the transition to english. She started in the hunter/jumper and equitation rings with much success, then finally made the switch to eventing in 2005. She was a working student for international event rider Emily Beshear in Charlottesville, Va and worked with her on the east coast for a few years, including spending time during the winter in Aiken. She has had much success with her partners Wondaree Merlin, Wondaree Barger, Buenos Aires, and Buenos Dias. Over the years she has had multiple wins at the Intermediate and Advanced levels including multiple top finishes at the American Eventing Championships. In 2009 She was the Area IV Rider of the Year as well as ranked 5th in the nation for overall Young Rider of the Year. The success has continued through the years and Julie and her horse Buenos Aires are the current Intermediate and Advanced horse and rider of the year for Area IV. In 2014 Julie was named to the Eventing 25 program and spent time down in florida training with David O'Connor and Michael Pollard.
Currently she events actively and runs JWE out of her training facility in Bucyrus, KS at CHAPS Equestrian Center.

Buenos Aires was an OTTB that Julie produced from Beginner Novice through the CIC*** level. They were on the Eventing 25 program in 2014 and had a lot of success at the Advanced level. Aires was known for his quirky attitude and exploding jump. Sadly he passed away this summer and will be greatly missed.
